Great News for the Fleet Industry!

March 20, 2009 :: Posted by - Laura :: Category - Drivers

Fleet industries across the nation could benefit from the new ‘Scrappage System’ if the Government decide to go ahead with the scheme.

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association state that by scrapping older cars, it will increase the residual values of fleet vehicles and encourage the public to purchase newer, fleet cars and vans that are one, two and three years old.

Manufacturers say that this action will boost the motor industry which has recently been affected by a huge plummet in sales due to the credit crunch.

But new incentives must be put in place in order for the public to be confident about buying these better, newer, and more ‘expensive’ fleet vehicles…

‘Ethanol’ – A New Fuel?

March 16, 2009 :: Posted by - Ian :: Category - General

As our Oil reserves continue to run out rapidly, we as a nation are continually striving to find alternatives that are pure enough for our environment, that are of lasting use, and yet economical.

So, how does ‘Ethanol’ size up for the Job?

Well, in effect, Ethanol is actually a cleaner substance than petrol, but in terms of volume, it won’t get us half as far as petrol will due to its lower energy density.

Ethanol is more commonly known as a flammable fluid that is found in Alcohol, which is what makes it an ideal substance for fuel as it burns easily.

As a whole, Ethanol makes good fuel but as far as taking it on as a suitable replacement?
We will have to look elsewhere for a long-term solution!
