So, the level of CO2 emissions spat out from your car will now determine how much tax your going to pay on it! As millions of pounds are set into incentives and directed at companies obtaining cars with key CO2 targets, choosing cleaner vehicles isn’t just beneficial to the environment!

Company car drivers will pay

Tax allowance on such vehicles is now catastrophic! So much so that it would almost be worth the value of a second ‘premium’ company car!

Will it be better now to reimburse for business fuel and ditch the free fuel, as only people with high private mileages will benefit otherwise – the experts say so!

Fears that the British Motor Show will be axed due to the current economic climate have become apparent today as we continue on the slippy slope of rapid deterioration in the British Motor Industry. ..

Never before has this been a threat to the Motor Show but since its recent decline, it looks like the show might never return! Only if the economy picks up will it consider a re-launch…

But it’s not just us!

In Tokyo, they are also cancelling the show, whist in Detroit this 09′, Nissan, Land-Rover, Porsche and Ferrari were all absent!

It’s a shame we say, to see such a world-wide exhibition effected in this way. In recent years it’s been an impulsive magnet of public interest, but with manufacturers and world debuts dwindling, motor-shows across the globe especially ‘British’, due to the lack of home-grown UK manufacturers means there is nothing left to exhibit!

We all know and love those 3 little letters that include NOS! Yes we strive to soop our cars up on the gas in order for it to literally FLY!!!

But have you ever wanted to know exactly what it is???

Well, Nitrous Oxide – commonly known as ‘laughing gas’, is a colour-less non flammable chemical compound that is used as an oxidizer in rocketry and motor racing engines to increase power output.
It has 310 times more impact per unit weight than carbon dioxide, and is prepared by carefully heating ammonium nitrate which decomposes into water vapor and nitrous oxide.

And now for the exciting part!!!…

Nitrous allows an engine to burn more air and fuel, thus resulting in higher power combustion.
It delivers more oxygen than atmospheric air enforcing breakdown at extremely high temperatures, although it is not a flammable liquid.
As it is compressed, the expansion of liquid nitrous in the manifold causes a drop in temperature in the intake charge – the results are a denser charge, allowing more mixture of air and fuel into the cylinder.
In some cases, it can actually produce enough power to seriously damage or destroy an engine.

2009 and Norway sees its first rally stages accompanied by the phenomenal Sebastien Loeb and crew…

8 stages to complete and its looking promising – lots of snow, the sun is shining, and the stages are beautiful.

This really is a Super-Rally! Not like Sweden where its slush on muddy roads with stones emerging, here its -30’c degrees, blazing sun and a complete white-out everywhere! Perfect conditions for a winter Rally!

The first leg was always going to be a tackler with narrow stages and unpacked snow. They were expecting to lag behind here until…

The second leg, he attacked this morning with no mistakes, staying ahead despite of their position as the opening car…

And by the third, Sebastien had smashed it! – what a pleasure to win this kind of race where he was not the favourite to win for once. A real challenge and paid off!
